KOSKINEN'S TOWING & REPAIR
We are a family owned and operated towing and recovery facility located in Central New York. Our company was established as a leading tow service in Ithaca nearly 30 years ago. Our current owners purchased the company in 2017 and have since expanded to several tow locations, automotive repair facilities, and a larger fleet. We pride ourselves on offering the best prices, quality customer care, and efficient labor. It is our goal to aid the community and support it how we can.
Our belief is that all good companies start with whom they hire. As a family business, we pride ourselves on the relationships we maintain and it is no different with our employees. Beyond being incredible workers they are also highly qualified. We hire for experience in customer service and towing. Several of our drivers are also WreckMaster certified.
Our company has consistently grown with the help of our employees and long-time supporters. In 2020, we opened our first repair location in Lansing, NY. In 2021, we opened our Syracuse fleet and were voted as Finger Lakes Favorite Towing Company and in 2022 we earned our BBB accreditation, placed in two Finger Lakes Favorites categories, and received a national award. We hope to continue achieving such big goals for many years to come!

THE HEART OF OUR COMPANY
If you couldn't tell we are so proud of being family owned! Our owner's Jamie & Valleri Stevens purchased Koskinen's Towing in 2017 with the intent for their twins to someday take over. That process is well underway as the twins assist in the rapid expansion of our company. Bailey is our Lead Fleet Manager and spearheads our AAA battery service program. While Savannah works as the Public Relations Manager in the repair facilities and correlates the majority of communications.
Jamie:
Our owner, Jamie, is a valued community member and great father. He has dedicated his life to helping those around him. Jamie has nearly 30 of years of experience in towing and worked for Koskinen's for several years before purchasing the company. In his spare time he volunteers at his local fire department and is currently serving as the Deputy Chief. Jamie has a strong leadership ability and focuses on younger or newer members, in both towing and the fire service, to take larger roles and get involved.
Bailey:
Much like his father, Bailey has a passion for helping others. Throughout high school he assisted with the company and completed several courses geared towards towing and heavy equipment operation. Bailey has been in a tow truck since he was just 3 years old! He is skilled in vehicle recovery and customer education. He also spends time at the volunteer fire department serving as a First Assistant Chief.
Savannah:
Savannah is a customer service extraordinaire! With training from various companies and years of working in a veterinary field she now uses her skills to keep well organized bookwork. She is also in charge of social media, advertising, and dispatching. She spends much of her time with her horses. She is also a volunteer firefighter who focuses on education around animals, scene safety, and more.

2019
In 2019 we were presented with an award from Geico Roadside Assistance for Outstanding Performance And Customer Service. Only 12 of these awards are given annually and it was a great honor for our company to receive one so early in our ownership transition.
2020
2020 was a year of changes for the world. Much the same as most businesses our plans and future goals needed to change as well. We welcomed the twins on board full time in 2020 and began marketing towards our community. We created strong ties with the local community by joining Empire State Towing & Recovery Association where we were presented with our official membership plaque.
2021
Those changes in our community standing paid off in 2021. We were able to shift back to a sense of normalcy and bring our staff back following the pandemic. We attended the Florida Tow Show to learn about new safety techniques and equipment. In the summer we were voted Finger Lakes Favorite Towing Company! This award is presented by Cayuga Radio Group and decided on based on genuine customer votes.
2022
2022 was a challenging year for us. The students returned as normal in 2022 and with social events and concerts back in it was challenging to get the right staffing, timing, and planning together. We grew and learnt so much this year and value our community support as we figure it all out. We were in Finger Lakes Favorites again! This year we placed in two categories! Silver in Towing Company & Auto Service Center! We were presented with Better Business Bureau Accreditation in October. And in November we traveled to Baltimore to accept a nationally recognized award from the American Towman Association - the Towman Ace Award.

2023 has been a difficult year with the loss of our beloved owner, Valleri, in August. The family and company have been surrounded by much love and support while continuing to provide a high level of service. Aside from hardships the company had several outstanding achievements and events this year. The family was able to attend the Empire State Tow Show in Lake George in early June. The twins will remember this fondly as it was their last trip with their mother, Valleri. The company placed in four Finger Lakes Favorites categories; Gold for Best Place to Work, Best Auto Service, & Best Oil & Lube, Silver for Best Towing Company. We also received the Towman Ace Award for a second year in a row and the family was in attendance at the Baltimore Tow Show in November.
ESTRA
ESTRA stands for Empire State Towing and Recovery Association. The association provides resources for NYS tow truck operators from education and legal advice to media coverage and up to date news on emergency roadside service. Members of ESTRA are approved by the board and accredited before becoming a member.
Finger Lakes Favorites
Finger Lakes Favorites is a local contest hosted by Cayuga Radio Group and co-sponsored by Cayuga Medical Center. Local businesses are nominated by community members then voted for by the community.
The contest serves as a way to discover the best of what the Finger Lakes has to offer from towing to restaurants!
Towman ACE Award
The Towman ACE Award is a prestigious nationally recognized award presented by American Towman Magazine and co-sponsored by Allstate Roadside, GEICO, Nation Safe Drivers, and Agero. ACE recipients rank in the top 1% of the towing industry's service providers out of an estimated 49,000+ registered towing companies in the United States.
Recipients are nominated by the nation's major motor clubs and dispatch centers for criteria such as percentage of when estimated time of arrival is met, consistency in service and response time, and expressed customer satisfaction.
WreckMaster
WreckMaster is an internationally recognized training organization for tow truck drivers. They host specialty training events throughout the United States. Our company is proud to partner with them and have even had the pleasure of hosting a 2 day training event in 2022. All of our drivers are WreckMaster certified going into 2023.
